Sleep and Rest
Children have a very busy and active day while at the centre and are all encouraged to rest after Lunch. Rest is important to function well for the entire day. The amount of sleep required depends on each individual child. Children who do not sleep are encouraged to participate in quiet activities, or listen to relaxation music/pre-recorded stories.
For children who require a sleep in the under 3 year rooms, every child has their own mattress, which is covered by a sheet and a polar fleece blanket. Babies are put to bed according to their individual needs and staff aim to be consistent with their home routines and parent’s requests.
Children will be given age appropriate opportunities to dress and undress themselves, practising developing independence skills, with assistance from staff where needed.
