Clothing and Jewellery
Clothing needs to be practical, comfortable, allow free movement, sunsmart (no singlet tops or dresses ie. shoulders should be covered) and easily manageable, such as pants that can be pulled down easily (no belts or braces) to assist children with fostering toileting and rest time independence. Clothes need to also be suitable for climbing and energetic activities. Slip on shoes, thongs and crocs are not suitable footwear and have been found to contribute to accidents/injuries incurred whilst in care.
Any wet or soiled clothes will be rinsed and placed in a plastic bag and tied to your child’s bag and sent home for laundering.
Please consider the safety of your child where jewellery is concerned. Studs and small sleepers with Secure fastenings are safer ear-rings to wear for care.
